Instructor Candidate Program
The IKMF-Norway has its own Instructor Candidate Program (ICP) for people who would like to become certified Krav Maga Self-Defense instructors and Assistant Instructors.

An instructor and assistant instructor in Krav Maga has to participate in the ICP to get the titles. It is not possible to just train in regular classes and obtain the titles. This is to make sure that the instructor staff holds a high degree of teaching experience and knowledge in the system.

We would like to stress that Krav Maga is an independent system of self-defense and fighting tactics. It is not just a mix of other styles. It is not possible to come with a black belt from a traditional style of martial arts and get the instructor license in a weekend course. Everyone has to go trough the same prossess of education. This is the only way we can make sure that the instructors understand the principles and techniques of the system Krav Maga. Of course the more experience you have from other systems the easier it will be to gain knowledge and proficiency in Krav Maga.

Instructor Candidate Program Requirements:
1. Minimum Age 20 years.
2. Need Background in Martial Arts. Preferably in striking arts. You do not need to have trained Krav Maga for a number of years, although knowledge of the system is advicable. The amount of background in martial arts are variable. We would like to see this as one component. It is not the number of year, but the proficiency in the art that is important.
3. No Criminal Record
4. Desire to teach. The program is not recomended for people who only want to train. Come to our intensive courses instead.
