International Krav Maga Federation Norway
Krav Maga has been taught and trained in Norway since
1996. The IKMF held its first instructor course in Scandinavia
in 1996 (in Sweden), with participants from Norway, Sweden
and Finland. Aproximately 20 students trained all day
for 4 very intense weeks, learning the basics of the system,
its self-defense approach and fighting tactics under the
watchfull eyes of Eyal Yanilov, the Head Instructor of
the IKMF.
Passing
all the tests, Rune Lind was given instructor status after
the course, and went back to Norway as the first norwegian
Krav Maga instructor. He started teaching seminars in
Oslo, and opened a school in Bodoe. During the year the
IKMF-Norway was established to organize Krav Maga training
in Norway. Rune
Lind serves as Director of the International Krav
Maga Federation - Norway and has the highest Expert level
in the country.
During the following years several instructors from Norway
has participated and graduated
from instructor training and started to teach Krav Maga
in Norway. We have one of only a few female instructors
in Europe, and our own police training division with trained
personel from the Police force and the National Police
academy.
Presently we teach seminars at major cities and has
instructors spread out in various locations around the
country.
In 1999 the Krav Maga National Training Center was
formed in Bodoe to create a center which would provide
quality Krav Maga training not only for Bodoe but for
the country. At the NTC seminars and courses which has
drawn partictipants from all over the world including
Norway, Denmark, UK and Thailand. In 1999 we also held
our first instructor course with
Eyal Yanilov.
